About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Quality Assurance Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of LoanNEX enterprise solutions across the full software development lifecycle. In this role, you will develop and execute test plans for complex, multi-tier distributed applications, translate business requirements into rigorous testing strategies, and establish quality assurance standards that drive consistent, high-quality releases. This role serves as a critical partner to both development and business teams, defining and tracking key metrics such as defect density and open defect counts. As a small, agile team, we value collaboration, ownership, and people who enjoy solving complex problems in the mortgage and fintech space.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Analysis and Documentation

  • Define, develop, and implement quality assurance practices, procedures, and test plans across the full software development lifecycle
  • Create effective test plans and test cases using a variety of testing toolsets
  • Establish the purpose, scope, and deliverables of each test effort
  • Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load, and system testing
  • Manage assigned projects from initial QA testing through final User Acceptance Testing
  • Establish QA standards and best practices for the use of defined use cases
  • Define and track key quality metrics, including defect density, open defect counts, and test execution rates
  • Record and report on testing metrics to support continuous improvement
  • Ensure all items follow the change management process and are tracked through change management software
  • Obtain final signoff for code releases to production from the appropriate Project Sponsor

Product & Feature Support

  • Work directly with product owners to understand project objectives, scope, and approach for software development initiatives.
  • Participate in project-related activities and adhere to the defined project methodology throughout all project phases.
  • Work with high-velocity Agile software lifecycle methodologies.
  • Collaborate with development and business teams to deliver consistent, high-quality releases.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure an appropriate level of quality by working with developers to resolve defects and maintain rigorous testing standards throughout the development process.
  • Track and report defects using appropriate tools and ensure timely resolution in alignment with company defect resolution SLAs.
  • Obtain final signoff for code releases to production from the appropriate Project Sponsor.
  • Participate in project-related activities and adhere to the defined project methodology throughout all project phases.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three years experience in Quality Assurance testing
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to analyze and document complex business processes.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to think analytically and should be a problem solver.
  • Proven ability to develop, document, publish, implement and maintain test cases, bug maintenance procedures, including the designing and documenting detailed process flows, and the development of operational performance and quality metric standards and reports.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exposure to all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Proven experience working within the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps / TFS for defect and test management.
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Knowledge of test-driven development (TDD) practices a plus.
